Is it September already? Also known as … The Search for Balance
As the stress and temperatures soared in August it is a welcome relief to begin a new month and have a fresh start. Glancing at September I feel like this will be a generally easier month although there will still be some obstacles, especially toward the end of the month. The highlights for September include:
This list is only what I feel is the most important events of the month and is not a comprehensive list of the transits for September, but there is a lot of delight in here! I wrote about the current Mars cycle in last month’s summary so if you are interested in Mars look back at August 2020. The full moon in Pisces (September 2nd) and the new moon in Virgo are about the tension and paradox between the spiritual realm and the physical realm. Is there room for reality in a spiritual life? Is there space of spirituality in the real world? I am a happy disciple of the Law of Attraction and I find this is the intersection of the idea that our thoughts create our reality, and how can we believe in something when we see evidence to the contrary? For example, if we see we have no money how can we attract or manifest more when we already know that we don’t have any? Or how can I possibly find love when I have never had a successful relationship in my whole life? This is where the tension lies, and the Virgo-Pisces axis is about creating a balance between these two worlds. Or in the Law of Attraction realizing that you don’t need money to feel abundant, and this is the point of attraction. Just like you don’t need a relationship to feel love. I find that among the many priestesses I know that they often have a strong Virgo-Pisces axis in their chart where they can bridge the gap between earthbound reality and infinite source. This is where we get to play this month: on the cosmic shore where earth and dreams meet. Adding to the mix we get the fall equinox, another balancing point where day and night meet as equals. Allowing this time to be a reminder to balance your own inner and outer lives, your own light and darkness, can be a powerful practice this month. Think of your light as your intellect, your personality, your natural warmth, your future. Think of your darkness as your intuition, your inner realm, your natural connection to source, your past. How can these things balance in your own life? What has been neglected? What has been getting too much attention? And make adjustments as needed. Finally, there is Saturn. Saturn stations direct on September 29th. Anytime there is a Saturn station whether retrograde or direct, there is a heaviness that builds up ahead of time. If you are sensitive to Saturn you will usually start noticing it about 2 weeks before the station date, sometimes even more. When I say a “heaviness” it’s like things feel more burdensome, obstacles become more prominent, and there is a seriousness underlying many of the issues being dealt with right now. Saturn direct means the last pass through the tail end of Capricorn before moving into Aquarius (in mid December) to stay until March 2023. Those of us with planets in Aquarius and all fixed signs are getting ready to pay attention! Ultimately I think that’s what Saturn’s message is: pay attention and simplify your life. Mindfulness and simplicity. We can all practice those things this month as we approach this next Saturn station. I’d love to hear how August treated you or how you and feeling about these September transits. Personally I love the equinox and so I am looking forward to finding that balance somewhere! Welcome to August!
The overwhelming need to simplify our lives and get back to basics continues this month. This has been going on for quite some time, and the coronavirus is a symptom of this same Saturn-Pluto energy. The ongoing protests are also a manifestation of this energy but with a different spin. The bottom line is how do we take care of ourselves as individuals, as a community, as a society? Basic human dignity is at stake here, whether that is in our healthcare system, our racial injustices, or our own self-care. The highlights for August include:
There is a LOT happening this month that I did not mention but from my perspective these are the top transits this month. You should pay special attention to the Mars transit of the stellium in Capricorn of Jupiter, Pluto and Saturn which is already powerful enough without Mars adding fuel to the fire. Another reason this Mars series is so important is because Mars turns retrograde on September 9th and so all of these Mars transits are the first pass in a series of three for each of these planets. Mars adds explosiveness and energy to an already volatile situation so it’s concerning to see this beginning now when there is already so much trouble in the world. Mars Retrograde will last from September 9th through November 13th and it will take until January 2021 for Mars to complete it’s 3rd pass of Saturn so this energy we are entering right now will be around for a while. Mars, simply put, is energy. When we add energy to a difficult situation (I am thinking of the federal interference in local protests) it feels like it can turn dangerous rather quickly. Energy can show up as more protesters, a stronger federal presence, a more violent response from either or both sides, just as a few examples. When we think about how this applies to our own lives we can look at where we have been struggling the most so far in 2020 and see that we are going to have another opportunity to “get it right”. Whether that is a positive or negative experience for you personally depends on your own vibrational set point. If you are full of optimism and new opportunities expect more of the same, but if you have been dealing with negativity and financial hardship unfortunately that is what’s being aggravated by this Mars series of transits. I haven’t been writing or posting on social media hardly at all this year because a part of my own work this year is to look within and build up some of my own fundamentals, particularly in regards to health and wellness. With my physical health creating a new foundation of strength and vitality. And believe me, I have had to revert to the basics in order to start from scratch in order to heal. Basic things like posture and correct body placement both at rest and during movement have been one of many things I have been studying this year. Who knew I would read so many books of physical therapy in one summer? With the larger wellness picture I have greatly increased my meditation time and also made it a more formal practice. I have been working with a nutritionist. And perhaps most important of all I have invested my energy into vibrational alignment using the law of attraction. So these basics: how to use my body, how to feed my body, how to connect more deeply through mindfulness and meditation, and ultimately how to raise my vibration so that I can be in the “vortex”. It feels like these are the core things in my life right now, and connecting with these things in a mindful way truly does make me happy. And as they say in the Law of Attraction: there is nothing more important than how you feel. I tell you my story as an example of what I expect in the month of August for myself. I expect these areas that I have invested in (mind, body, spirit) to be challenged in new ways. And I expect that I will be able to celebrate my progress and lean into my practices. My desire for alignment will grow greater. My desire for inner peace will increase. My desire for a healthy and happy body that I am attuned well with will flourish. I am loving 2020 so far, even if it hasn’t been easy all the time, it has certainly been rewarding. If things have been going well for you they will continue to go well as long as you are open to making adjustments. But if things have been tough then August will be a huge wake up call. Since I am a proponent of the Law of Attraction I will tell you that paying attention to how you feel and working your emotional guidance system toward a better feeling thought is imperative this month. There are many areas where as are powerless, but we always have the ability to feel a little batter and move upward in our vibration. August, with the help of Mars, is throwing down the gauntlet and challenging whether or not we are ready to actually change our lives for the better, here and now, today, or whether we will continue to believe that someone else is in charge of making us feel better. Even though I have put my writing aside for most of 2020 my plan moving forward is to offer a monthly summary of the energies which I feel are the most prominent. For August it is certainly Mars! If you like what I had to say about this or want to request additional writing on something else happening this month please feel free to comment or send me a message with the request. Simplifying my life does involve spending less time writing posts and articles but I still love to write and so I would love to hear what you want to read about the most. As always, all my love to you. And remember this quote by Rhonda Byrn: “If you are feeling good, it is because you are thinking good thoughts.” Hello Solstice! Happy Birthday Capricorn! * Astrology * sun enters Capricorn Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 10:19 PM CST Things are getting heavy with the Saturn-Pluto conjunction imminent but the solstice (and the new moon solar eclipse on Christmas Day) is a moment of cosmic support and serendipity during an otherwise trying time. Capricorn is a cardinal sign which means we often feel motivated to set goals and start something new. That’s one reason new year's resolutions are so popular and fitting this time of year. Many people have some time off work and can pause and reflect about what is truly important. Setting priorities is another wonderful Capricorn tendency. The coming month is going to be a tough one (anyone feelings impending doom or anxiety?) but at this moment, with the sun approaching Jupiter in the sign of Capricorn we can be grateful that we are blessed with everything we need at this moment in time. As the darkness reaches its maximum point (the winter solstice) and we experience the darkest night of the year, we can go within and see how we are doing on the inside. Are we full of darkest or is our inner fire burning bright and illuminating the darkness like the holiday lights do on our homes and in our neighborhoods? As we pass through the portal from darkness into a time when light increases its symbolic of how we commit to increasing our our inner light, through self work, intentions, goals and resolutions. Even though we have been hearing all year about how hard this coming January will be we are being given a moment of reprieve and a boost of positive energy during this year’s solstice. Embrace it. Allow it to sustain you during the difficult times ahead. We have the strength and wherewithal to get through this and come out the other side more powerful and more peaceful than ever before. In this moment we can locate the guiding light in the darkness, and if we commit to following what lights us up, we will find the source of light within. And that light can sustain us and see us through. Through the Gateway
Into the Underworld Full Moon in Gemini The energy right now is so intense. And depending on how it is hitting your chart you are either in the greatest struggle of you life or thinking it's time to party like it's 1999. The Gemini Full Moon can be cavalier and not take what;s going on as seriously as things deserve. On the other hand, with Venus besieged by Saturn and Pluto who are drawing ever closer to their conjunction next month, setting the tone of this generation, we feel darkness like never before. We are desperate to save the love of our life but we aren't sure if it's even possible. This is where the brashness and audacity of this Gemini full moon comes in to save the day. We CAN do the IMPOSSIBLE! And it's hardly even a big deal. If you are wavering between despair and mania know that you aren't alone. Ask the angels for help and prepare to pass through the cosmic gateway into the shadow. You might have to give up everything to survive but it's worth it to save your Love. Jupiter enters Capricorn today and it's a blessing in the midst of the Saturn-Pluto storm that has been plaguing us. We have had to simplify and prioritize our lives, sometimes harshly, but with the addition of Jupiter we can begin building again. There is something architectural about this energy so make sure you are building something with a solid foundation that can truly last, otherwise it will get washed away by the storm.
Jupiter remains in Capricorn until December 2020. It will be my Jupiter return, always a good time! How will Jupiter in Capricorn affect you? What are you planning to build upon over the next year? Photo by Tim Rebkavets on Unsplash New Moon in Sagittarius on Tuesday, November 26, 2019
The new moon in Sagittarius is like a breath of fresh air. I’m not gonna lie, things have been intense. Not just for me, not just for my clients, not just for the country, they’ve been intense all around. The fire sign of Sagittarius renews our optimism and hope. I don’t usually write much about myself, but I have been lost in Neptune's fog. This new moon in Sagittarius is like a lighthouse in the fog. We can see our surroundings again, and it’s important to remember your insights at this time. Because when the fog rolls back in we are going to need to remember our insight at this moment. The momentary beacon is welcome. We have been searching for the light in the darkness for so long now it seems. One of the gifts of Sagittarius is that it teaches us we need to pursue our long range dreams. The way the energy is right now, these dreams have probably already been dashed. But it’s up to us to decide to continue to fight for and pursue that which we truly care about in our lives, even if we’ve been hurt emotionally, mentally, or even physically during that pursuit.Just because we’ve been disappointed doesn’t mean we can't still go after what we believe will bring us happiness. We do have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, and Sagittarius reminds us that it’s up to us to give chase to those dreams. So where are your dreams right now? Are you simply dreaming of a break from the constant pressure? Are you do you dream of bigger things, greater things, more symbolically important things and momentary reprieve? I’m not going to judge if you simply want to pause and take a deep breath as your dream. Saturn and Pluto have us all getting back to basics and there’s nothing more basic than breathing. Alternatively if you are planning to change the world I am all for it, too. Depending on how we are being affected on a personal level our dreams might be different but we all have some dream. So dig deep and find that inner fire. The Sabian Symbol for this new moon is “An Old Owl Sits Alone On The Branch Of A Large Tree”. Time to activate our inner wisdom, draw on our experience, and create a strategic plan for moving forward in our lives. This symbol reminds me of the asteroid Pallas, as the owl is a symbol of Pallas Athena, so I looked up the asteroid location and she is conjunct this new moon, adding the need for strategic planning and wise use of resources into consideration during this new moon. Dream big, but plan carefully. Wasted efforts are not appreciated at this time. Now is the time for precision. Time for more (shadow) work
As if we haven’t been inundated with personal growth work lately today we have Mars in Virgo making a trine to Pluto in Capricorn. This is a signature often correlated with shadow work but honestly, any type of self-improvement work will do! If the work you are doing now helps to enable the accomplishment of your long term goals even better. I know the energy is powerful right now and this allows us to see real progress, but only if we actually do the work that rises before us. Photo by Kiwihug on Unsplash Saturn stations direct on the south node today. They have been hanging out together for a while now but as with any station the energy of the stationing planet becomes much stronger. Time to let go. Time to overcome all the resistance that had been building. I know I have felt it, and I know you have, too. Sometimes facing resistance, internal or external, helps us to rise up and be our best selves. Other times it brings on bouts with depression and anxiety, and we feel like giving up. Today I am asking you to trust that there is a solution. Trust that you can find a way. I know the burden is heavy and that you want things to simply be different than they are right now. We now release old patterns, people and things in order to set the foundation for a better life. This is not a quick process. In fact, we will be working on these themes into January 2020 and beyond. Pay attention to what’s going on right now with you. It’s about to get harder before it gets easier. But with practice we shall overcome the obstacles before us. Imagine you are building your own city on the mountaintop. It’s a metaphor for your current struggles. If you care to share them I would love to hear what obstacles you are committed to face and overcome right now. As I said this theme will continue and I know it’s already been going on for a while now. For me it’s since May (Saturn went retrograde on April 29th just FYI) that I have been focused on healing my body and improving my health. What’s your current struggle? Having support (Saturn) can help.

The moon moves into Taurus today giving us a sense of feeling emotionally grounded despite the pressures we are all dealing with right now. This is the buildup. It’s beginning. Between now and January 2020 we are going to feel escalating pressures. We aren’t just feeling them, they are real, and we have to figure out what to do about it. We resolve our challenges in the best way we know how, but now this is about finding new solutions to old problems so that we can rise up, transcend, and move to the next level in our human experience. The boss fight is coming. Be ready. Photo by Jude Beck on Unsplash
