We have a reprieve this week from any major aspects. Of course we still have the background music of Chiron at the first degree of Aries and Uranus at the last degree of Aries. We are also coming off the Scorpionic high of last week’s full moon. This week can be used to steady yourself if you have been reeling. If you have been thriving it can be used to make significant headway.
Monday April 30th ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Scorpio void-of-course at 8:56 PM MDT The Scorpio moon gets a bad rap but the truth is this is a great day for hard work and self-reflection. It’s Monday so we might as well buckle down and get some stuff done anyway. And as far as self-reflection goes it never hurts to look within and decide if things are as they should be in there. Tuesday May 1st ~ What’s going on today: Moon enters Sagittarius at 9:19 AM MDT No exact aspects It’s rare to have a day with no exact aspects and some astrologers call this a “free day”. We are free from exact planetary influences and more able to just be ourselves. I am not sure that I agree with this but I like the idea of being free of influence for a day. Enjoy! Wednesday May 2nd ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Sagittarius When the moon is in Sagittarius good moods usually prevail. We feel upbeat and optimistic. And why shouldn’t we? Jupiter is sending us his blessings. Thursday May 3rd ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Sagittarius void-of-course at 6:50 PM MDT Moon enters Capricorn at 8:06 PM The shift from Sagittarius to Capricorn is something of a wakeup call. Imagine that you have been off having so much fun that you forgot your responsibilities. That’s where Capricorn comes in, to make sure you are taking care of business! And that’s not a bad thing. It’s just not quite as much fun. Friday May 4th ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Capricorn The moon in Capricorn appreciates accomplishing goals and working toward something. What are you working toward today? The weekend? Or something bigger than that? Saturday May 5th ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Capricorn Another day with the moon in Capricorn. The moon spends about two and a half days in each sign as she makes her way around the zodiac. Today we can honor the moon in Capricorn by working on a project or planning how to get to the next level in our lives. Sunday May 6th ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Capricorn void-of-course at 7:48 AM MDT Moon enters Aquarius at 8:48 AM MDT Sun sextile Neptune What it means: When the sun is in aspect to Neptune our dreams are triggered. Both our daydreams and our metaphorical dreams. Embrace that feeling today and use it to make your world more in alignment with the world where you wish you lived. Questions to ask yourself: How can I harness my dreams to make my life better? I can I engage my imagination today? Enjoy the cosmic “break” this week, just don’t let it be a “breakdown” as the aftermath of the energy of the past few weeks. We deserve a true break after all the tough energies we have been dealing with lately! How are you going to spend this week? Photo by Easton Oliver on Unsplash

What are your goals? How are you living your life? Are you pursuing harmony and peace or are you cultivating anger and strife? This week will give you a good idea where you stand on all of that. It’s up to you so if you feel things are off then it’s a signal to take the reins and be more self-directed … all by embracing your own personal power.
Monday April 23rd ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Leo Mars sextile Jupiter What it means: Mars and Jupiter together is energetic and active. Time to explore! Time to be adventurous. Time to … work hard?!?!?! It’s true, this aspect is great for hard work and focused drive, especially due to the sign Mars and Jupiter are in right now (Capricorn and Scorpio, respectively). This aspect is great channeling your energy, and getter yet if you can channel it toward a larger goal. Questions to ask yourself: What can I focus on right now to achieve my larger goals? Can I use my energy to expand and improve my life? Tuesday April 24th ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Leo void-of-course at 12:39 PM MDT Moon enters Virgo at 2:40 PM MDT Venus enters Gemini What it means: Venus leaving Taurus for the sign of Gemini is a huge change. Venus in Taurus is slow, patient, luxurious, maybe even a little lazy. Venus in Gemini is a social butterfly who wants to get out and explore anything and everything! Venus will spend less than a month in Gemini so get yourself out into the world and enjoy! Questions to ask yourself: How can I cultivate my social network? Can I plan a party or other social event in the next few weeks to take advantage of this energy? Wednesday April 25th ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Virgo Mercury square Saturn What it means: This is the third pass of this aspect since Mercury retrograde caused this two planets to do a little dance over the past six or seven week. The first pass was March 7th and the second was April 5th. Think pack over this time frame and is there a problem that you have been working on resolving? It’s time to have a clear solution to move forward with now that this is our third time dealing with these energies. Mercury and Saturn together really are critical thinkers and problem solvers. Maybe the issue you have been dealing with is internal, maybe external, but the solution should be available to you now. If it is not then this is your chance to figure it out! Questions to ask yourself: What solution have I come up with (or do I still need to come up with) over the past 6 or 7 weeks? How can I improve this solution? Thursday April 26th ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Virgo void-of-course at 3:49 AM MDT Moon enters Libra 7:13 PM MDT Mars conjunct Pluto What it means: Mars and Pluto together can be dangerous, violent and unpredictable. Or they can be empowering and transformative. Think about the difference between a serial rapist and a martial arts master. That is the breadth of the spectrum we are talking about with these energies today. Think for a moment where you are on that spectrum. Are you prone to anger? Do you lose your temper? Does acting out violently make you feel better? Punch any walls lately? Or are you able to remain calm in difficult circumstances? Are you able to use even challenges to help transform your life experience into something positive and helpful? Do you promote peaceful co-existence? Do you feel others are out to get you or that you are truly in control of your own actions? Your experience of this energy will have a lot to do with how today plays out for you. Embrace your own personal power in a manner that is helpful (rather than harmful) to those around you. Questions to ask yourself: How can I engage my own personal power in a manner that is helpful to all involved? How can I channel my energy into serving a higher purpose? Friday April 27th ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Libra The moon in Libra is ruled by the planet Venus. Friday is also the day or Venus. So we look to Venus in Gemini to give us an idea about how the energy is today and we feel social, curious and interested in exploring ideas with others. This sets a nice social tone for the weekend. Enjoy! Saturday April 28th ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Libra void-of-course at 11:32 PM MDT We have another day with moon in Libra. As the mother of a young child I think “play-date” but we don’t need to be kids to enjoy a play-date! Get together with a good friend and spend time together doing something you both enjoy! Sunday April 29th ~ What’s going on today: Moon enters Scorpio at 1:11 AM MDT Sun trine Saturn Full Moon in Scorpio What it means: The sun trine Saturn is stabilizing and grounding. It helps ring practicality and reason into our daily life. bIt also adds this stabilizing influence to the full moon which occurs later today. The Full Moon is a culmination of the past since months, since the last new moon in the same sign. Here in Scorpio we are looking for deeper truths as well as deeper emotional connections. Scorpio is a water sign and as such is inherently tied to our emotions. Scorpio is often considered very attuned to what is going on beneath the surface. This full moon helps us see hidden motivations and connect to a more authentic reality. The traditional ruler of Scorpio is Mars (the modern ruler is considered to be Pluto) and since these two planets just conjoined on Thursday we have a theme this week of how to handle power appropriately in order to run our lives better. If you have been engaged in arguments and power struggles I urge you to consider that there might be a better way to use your energy in your life. The Sabian Symbol for this full moon is “A Fellowship Supper Reunites Old Comrades”. This symbol can be literal or metaphorical. What or who have you lost touch with that you would like to reconnect with again? An ideal? A philosophy? A group of friends or colleagues? Sometimes we forget what we have forgotten, and sometimes we need a push to re-establish that link. Questions to ask yourself: How can you be more grounded in your daily life? What is going on below the surface in your life? What are your secret motivations? Is there something or someone you long to reconnect with? Can you set aside ego to make the reconnection happen? A powerful week with a Mars/Pluto/Scorpio theme. Allow your personal power to develop with the greater good in mind. Ask yourself “How can I live up to my own potential in order to make the most of myself and to help the most people, as well?” We have two outer planet stations this week and with that the energy might seem s more oppressive than uplifting, but fear not, there is also relief. If Saturn or Pluto are aspecting points in your natal chart you will be feeling this energy even more strongly. Good news is we also have some supporting aspects to help us deal with the pressure!
Monday April 16th ~ What’s going on today: Moon enters Taurus at 2:51 AM MDT The moon is well placed in Taurus and lends us some earthy, grounding energy. Get outside and enjoy nature if possible. Tuesday April 17th ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Taurus void-of-course at 4:05 PM MDT Venus opposite Jupiter Venus trine Pluto Saturn Station Retrograde What it means: Venus opposite Jupiter and trine Pluto are about wealth. Do we feel wealthy in terms of our relationships, investments and our lives in general? I am speaking of more than financial wealth. If there is a disconnect between our reality and our expectations we may see the problems in these areas more strongly today. Best advice is to do what is needed to bridge the gap and bring your reality in line with the life you envision. One of the nice things about this aspect is that is resonates the Jupiter-Pluto sextile from last week and we can use that sense of optimism and faith to make any needed changes in our lives. Saturn station really means that the pressure is on. The weight of the world may be on your shoulders. You may feel like it is heavier than you can bear. But fear not, when Saturn stations retrograde what really happens is that we are given the opportunity to figure out the best way to handle our issues over the course of the next few months. Pay attention to the biggest areas of concern in your life right now because those themes will continue and will need attention. If you are feeling a bit depressed or down with this energy remember that Saturn loves solitude and so you might want to take some time alone in order to meditate or just think through the things that are going on in your life right now. Questions to ask yourself: Are your investments of time, money and friendship paying off? Is there a way you could invest more wisely, in terms of people, projects, work and financials? Where are you feeling the biggest block or obstacle in your life right now? Are you doing anything about it? What plan can you create to tackle these issues over the next several months? Wednesday April 18th ~ What’s going on today: Moon enters Gemini at 6:02 AM MDT Sun conjunct Uranus Chiron enters Aries What it means: When the sun conjoins Uranus it’s like a permission slip to be you and to be weird. Not that Uranus needs a permission slip to do anything! The rebel meets the present moment. Depending on how true you are to yourself this aspect can be fun and joyous as you express yourself authentically or it can be uncomfortable if you aren’t truly clear on or happy with the person you are or the life you are living. Break the mold and let yourself be unique! Chiron enters Aries and it’s a new start. It takes Chiron 50 years to go around the zodiac and now he is back at the beginning and we are going to feel a shift. Our connection to God and the Universe has ideally been healed while Chiron traveled through Pisces. Now that Chiron is in Aries our sense of adventure, our ability to take risks, and most of all our self-reliance is going to be tested over the next many years. If you feel like you are challenged in these areas then expect these issues to come up in order for you to address and heal them. Questions to ask yourself: How are you expressing your amazing uniqueness? What can you do to be more fully in the present moment? Are you self-reliant? Are you able to take risks? How can you promote a sense of adventure within yourself? Thursday April 19th ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Gemini Sun enters Taurus What it means: When the sun enters Taurus spring should be firmly rooted. Depending on where you live that may or may not be true, I just saw my first spring flowers (crocus) here yesterday and we had snow as recently as last week but it is staying lighter later in the evenings and the temperatures are slowly getting warmer. Taurus is a fixed earth sign and that means it’s great for connecting with nature, getting into your garden, or doing practical things that make living simpler and more comfortable (like spring cleaning). Use the sun’s transit through Taurus as a time to simplify and reconnect. Questions to ask yourself: How am I connected to the earth and nature? What can I do to simplify my life in order to emphasize quality over quantity? Friday April 20th ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Gemini void-of-course at 6:05 AM MDT Moon enters Cancer at 8:25 AM MDT The moon in Cancer is a great time to do an intuition check. Tune into your inner wisdom and pay attention to what’s going on under the surface. Practice deep breathing or even something like water gazing to really tune into your natural intuitive capabilities. Saturday April 21st ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Cancer Another day with the moon in Cancer and it’s a great time to spend time with family and close friends. Cancer moon loves to take care of loved ones so a nice home cooked meal or a family barbecue or just simply time spent together is wonderful today. Sunday April 22nd ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Cancer void-of-course at 8:58 AM MDT Moon enters Leo at 11:09 AM MDT Pluto Station Retrograde What it means: The Pluto station is similar to the Saturn station we have been talking about recently. These outer planets are retrograde for months and months at a time and so we might not notice their retrograde motion as usually but when they station they sure pack a punch! With Pluto stationing in the sign of Capricorn we want to look at what we have built in our lives and make sure the foundations are secure. We felt the global foundations of our economic platform crumble when Pluto entered Capricorn in 2008 and with the Pluto station expect similar themes to emerge both on a personal level and on a larger global scale. Whatever isn’t working gets exposed. Questions to ask yourself: Is your foundation secure? How can you strengthen your position? How can you rebuild to resolve any cracks that have developed in the foundation? While there is still plenty of intensity this week we are blessed to have some mitigating aspects that help to stabilize us. Having practices to help regain a sense of center and grounding is important when we are dealing with uncertain times. What are some of the practices you use to deal with things when the pressure bears down? Photo by Ramin Khatibi on Unsplash We have an influx of positive energy this week that is greatly needed after the stress of the past few weeks. Are things easy? Maybe not. But they sure are getting some help along the way this week.
Any time we deal with Saturn (which we have over the past few weeks) there is always a lingering effect of heaviness and weight from the issues Saturn has triggered in your chart. Compound this with the fact that Saturn stations retrograde next week (on April 17th) and I can promise that those of you dealing with some heavy issues have Saturn triggering some stuff in your natal chart right now for sure! Monday April 9th ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Aquarius Quirky Aquarius moon loves to delve into ideas. I like to think that Aquarians are actually turned on by intellectual content. Be a brainiac. It’s cool today. Tuesday April 10th ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Aquarius Sun square Pluto What it means: The sun and Pluto can shine the light on any control issues that are going on under the surface of a relationship. Sometimes we do not realize that we fall into patterns that aren’t completely healthy and an aspect like today will help to make us aware of what’s going on in the shadows so we can do something about it. Confronting the darkness isn’t easy but it is necessary. Questions to ask yourself: Where have I gotten too controlling in my life? What’s going on when I look between the lines? Wednesday April 11th ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Aquarius void-of-course at 8:55 AM MDT until Moon enters Pisces at 12:40 PM MDT Venus square Mars What it means: There is something sexy sexy about Venus and Mars and when we bring Neptune into the mix tomorrow it adds some romantic, rose-colored glasses to the mix as well. Venus and Mars really is all about relationships and can be more than just romantic partners. Relationships with money, with friends and family, with your environment and more can all be examined today. Questions to ask yourself: How can I add some romance and positive energy into my relationship? Into my relationship with money? Into my living environment? Thursday April 12th ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Pisces Venus sextile Neptune What it means: Get those rose-colored glasses, grab your friend Lucy and go stargazing for diamonds in the sky. Venus and Neptune is all about fantasy and there is also a sense of other-worldliness that comes with this aspect as well. Questions to ask yourself: How can I add more fantasy into my life? How can I better engage my imagination? Friday April 13th ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Pisces void-of-course at 5:27 AM MDT until Moon enters Aries at 9:26 PM MDT All day void-of-course moon means we will have trouble getting motivated. Take care of the basics. Do some doodling. Daydream about the weekend to come. Saturday April 14th ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Aries Jupiter sextile Pluto Mars sextile Neptune What it means: Jupiter and Pluto are really about wealth. Wealth of optimism. Wealth of inner power. Wealth of generosity. Financial wealth. What are you trying to grow in your life right now? These planets can first of all help you believe it is true and second give you the drive to invest wisely in your venture, whether that is time, money or attention. Mars and Neptune remind me of floating in the ocean. Sure we can swim in one direction or another but where is it we are really going? Is the shore even in sight? Or are we in search of something larger? This is a great aspect for spiritual or artistic practice but for practical purposes … not so much Questions to ask yourself: What are you investing in right now? Relationships? Career? Spiritual practice? Health? How can you make that investment pay off even more? Where does your spiritual path lie and how can you follow is even if it lead into the unknown? Sunday April 15th ~ What’s going on today: New Moon in Aries at 26’02” Moon void-of-course at 11:59 PM MDT Mercury Station Direct What it means: Let’s talk about Mercury Direct first. We have waited weeks for Mercury retrograde to end and here it is! When Mercury turns direct there is still a few days where things might still seem glitchy but that is only because Mercury hasn’t really started moving again yet. We may have learned some lessons over these past few weeks and it is up to us to remember them so we do not have to repeat them again next Mercury retrograde cycle. The new moon in Aries is the beginning of a new twelve month cycle. Here we can plant seeds that we would like to harvest over the next astrological year. This new moon is conjunct Uranus and so asking us to rebel against things that have not been working in our lives in order to create something new a different and better. There is something Utopian about this new moon but hey, we can all improve our lives in some way, even if Utopian isn’t real. The Sabian Symbol for this new moon is “Through Imagination A Lost Opportunity Is Regained”. When it comes to creating something new in our lives, a personal revolution of sorts, often we feel like things are gone and our dreams have ended when in reality we can have an opportunity to approach our dream from a new angle. Often when we want to make changes in our live we have to go back to the beginning and start fresh to seek that which has thus far eluded us. Questions to ask yourself: What have you learned over the past 3 weeks or so that will help you moving forward? What do you want to remember? What do you want to let go of and forget? If you could re-create your life from scratch what would you change? What would you keep? What dream have you given up on that you would like to reclaim? Even though we have some lighter aspects this week we are preparing for the Saturn station next week. Whenever Saturn stations we feel pressure, heaviness, burden. Whether that is in our responsibilities that we must live up to or in the realities we face in our lives, Saturn becomes easier when we simplify our lives. So I leave you with this final question: as we prepare for the Saturn station next week what in your life can you simplify? In many ways this week is deja vu of last week. Many of the same patterns that were active during the full moon are now perfecting bringing the themes from last week to a head this week. We can accomplish big goals or we can be frustrated by failure or accidents. Think about it this way: if you want to climb Mt. Everest you need to train hard, prepare your gear, make a plan of approach. And still you might fail. Or you can reach the summit and have much to celebrate.
Monday April 2nd ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Scorpio Mars conjunct Saturn What it means: When I talk about my example of climbing Mt. Everest I am really talking about Mars conjunct Saturn. Mars is our motivation, out personal power, our drive, our energy. Saturn is our ability to plan, to set goals, to have endurance over the long haul. Nobody ever thought climbing Mt. Everest was easy and you should have a similar goal for yourself … something that challenges you and that you truly have to work for in order to accomplish it. You might fail but the rewards are worth the risk of failure. Without goals we become frustrated and have nowhere to direct our energy. Train for your marathon. Plan your business success. Build a new house. Whatever your personal mission might be it is probably shown by the house and planets being activated by the Mars-Saturn conjunction in your personal chart. Questions to ask yourself: What are my personal goals right now? What I am doing to meet them? Am I being responsible to my larger plan? How can I use my energy in a way that helps reach my goals? Tuesday April 3rd ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Scorpio void-of-course at 10:06 AM MDT We have a void-of-course moon almost all day long today. It is not the day for new projects but it is a good day for finishing up old tasks or routine things. Clear out your inbox. Do the laundry. Finish that project that is lingering. I know you might not want to take care of these things but you will feel better once they are complete! Wednesday April 4th ~ What’s going on today: Moon enters Sagittarius at 12:55 AM MDT Mercury square Mars What it means: Mercury is activating the tension of the full moon on Saturday by triggering the planets involved over today and tomorrow. We still have the opportunity to get things sorted out and come up with an alternative way of handling these issues in our lives. If we do nothing about the things that are troubling us we might end up dealing with internal anger. Let’s rethink our approach and direct our energy outward toward our goal instead of inward at ourselves in the form of anger. Questions to ask yourself: How do I rephrase my situation so that I can direct my energy in a productive manner? Is there a new approach I can take? How can I redirect my anger toward something helpful? Thursday April 5th ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Sagittarius Mercury square Saturn What it means: Once Mercury turns direct next weekend he will turn around and aspect both Mars and Saturn once more on his path forward. But for now this is the final aspect of a sequence that started a couple of weeks ago. The sun, moon and Mercury have now all squared Mars and Saturn and if we haven’t figured out a new approach to our problems we either aren’t trying or we aren’t paying attention! Whatever the big issue in your life is right now, represented by the cardinal signs of Aries, Libra and Capricorn, that is where your energy has been these past few weeks. There is a tendency for negative thinking, especially if you haven’t resolved these issues or at least figured out a new plan. But there is also the energy for problem solving so use this time to recommit yourself to your plan, whether it requires modifications or not. Questions to ask yourself: How can I transform negative thoughts into problem solving thoughts? Friday April 6th ~ What’s going on today Moon in Sagittarius void-of-course at 7:36 AM MDT until Moon enters Capricorn at 12:01 PM MDT The moon moves into Capricorn today with an echo of the themes we have been dealing with for some time now. But I like this Capricorn moon. It’s down to business and it pushes aside the distractions in order to accomplish its goals. Saturday April 7th ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Capricorn Venus trine Saturn What it means: Venus trine Saturn usually represent commitment in love, long term investments, and celebrating a simple aesthetic in art and beauty. Simplify your own love life but simply telling the person you are in love with how much you care. Commitment is beautiful and should be celebrated. Questions to ask yourself: What am I committed to in my love life? Whether this is a significant other, finding a partner, being happy alone, being in love with yourself, whatever the commitment is it should be acknowledged and honored today. Sunday April 8th ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Capricorn void-of-course at 8:40 PM MDT It’s a good day for projects and for generally getting things done. What has been neglected in your life lately? This could be your house, your body, your car, your work, your family, your writing, anything. Use today to get caught up to start next week off right. I have had a lot of friends and clients talk about how strong the energy has been lately and it isn’t changing this week so to be honest it is up to you to change. If the pressure is on then the only thing we can do it to better handle it in our own life in order to make it easier. What are some techniques you use when the pressure is on? |
