Pluto Station Direct - bonus content above and beyond my weekly forecast
What it means: As with other outer planets the stations are the most impactful time or the retrograde cycle. Today Pluto stations direct which means he stands still for a time before he once again begins his apparent forward motion. The station occurs in Capricorn at 18 degrees 45 minutes Capricorn so if you have planets or angles there you are definitely feeling the intensity. In fact we can all feel the pressure during a Pluto station even if it’s not hitting you directly. It can feel like pressure looming over you, a sense of darkness, an obsession revealed. Pluto already moves very slowly … he has been in Capricorn since 2008 and won’t be completely done with his work there until 2024 so all of you with Capricorn in your chart you are feeling the slow burn. Pluto helps us to transform our lives and that means a lot of purging and releasing old patterns while also developing new ways of living. Pluto went retrograde on April 22nd and now, over five months later, he is turning direct. Outer planets have long retrograde cycles and we can interpret this in several different ways. First, think about what was going on in your life around April 22nd. Have you resolved it now? Did you have to personally backtrack in some area of your own life before you, too, could start moving forward again? Second, around the time of a planetary station the energy of a planet is magnified. There is a saying in astrology: “the slowest planet wins”. And nothing is slower than a planet at station (since it’s not moving at all and instead appears to stand still in the sky). So we are in for a Pluto themed week. Even though the station is today we will feel this of weeks before and after due to Pluto moving so slowly. And a few keywords for Pluto are power, transformation, regeneration, release, secrets, manipulation, obsession. Some of these are associated positively and some are negative. Take a look at your own life and see if you are experiencing this for yourself. Third, take a look at your own chart and see what is being activated (transformed) by Pluto. This can be a planet or angle being aspected, or a house being influenced. Using myself as an example the Pluto station is trine my ascendant. Since my ascendant is how I show myself to the world I have the opportunity to transform the image I show to others. Pluto is also stationing conjunct my north node in my 4th house of home. I did just move cross country and have the opportunity to transform (Pluto) my image (Ascendant) based on my new location (4th house) in order to further my personal soul development (north node). Astrology works. If you are curious how your own chart is being activated and want to consult an astrologer reach out to me and I can help. Questions to ask yourself: What have I been transforming in my own life? What do I let go of in order to create a more meaningful life? Photo by Sven Scheuermeier on Unsplash

* I have moved to Central US Time so all times noted are now Central Daylight Time (CDT). * From Full Moon in Aries to Pluto Station Direct we have a lot of strong energies occurring this week. We can use the balancing influence of Libra to work with these energies in harmony. But in order to do that we have to keep balance a priority. Monday September 24th ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Pisces void-of-course at 12:26 AM CDT Moon enters Aries at 6:04 PM CDT Full Moon at 2 degrees Aries at 9:52 PM CDT What it means: We had the first day of fall just a couple of days ago and now we have a full moon in the sign of Aries which is the first sign of spring. We have a new season and a new beginning. Things that you have been working on all summer are culminating. How is your life shaping up under all these changes? Are you embracing your fresh start? This fresh start may have been some time in the making but it’s still a new day. For this full moon we will look at the Sabian Symbols for two different degrees. The full moon falls exactly at 2 degrees and 0 minutes of Aries and the Sabian Symbol for 2 degrees is “A Comedian Reveals Human Nature”. I think this is an especially fitting Sabian Symbol for Aries because Aries can be brash, rude, and even offensive with their comments, much like comedians do. Comedy is often offensive because it brings up subjects we might not want to address or admit are true. But the key here is that a good comedian is making a commentary on the truth of this world, which does in fact reveal human nature. Now ask yourself: can you laugh about the truth that is being revealed in your own life? Can you maintain a sense of humor about the things you are dealing with, the people you meet, and the overall tone in your day to day experiences? If not I urge you to consider finding a more humorous viewpoint in order to maintain your sanity. When we lose our sense of humor we really are in trouble. The second symbol is the one that immediately follows the previous one we discussed. It is “The Cameo Profile of a Man, Suggesting the Shape of His Country”. We shape the world around us and it in turn shapes us as well. When we look at something from the side (a cameo view), we might not see the whole picture but often we can see enough to get a good idea of what is going on. When people look at you what do you represent? Are you a symbol for your environment? Are you in harmony with your surrounding to the extent that you reflect back the values of the land around you? How can you create more harmony with the way you live your life compared to the land in which you desire to live? All in all this full moon is powerful and creates a t-square with slow moving Saturn. We may desire the freedom of Aries but we are building on the goals and plans that we have been laying out over the past 6 months. Can we create a balance between the two? Ultimately when we embrace our responsibilities and master them we gain a new sense of freedom and capability. Questions to ask: How is your life shaping up under all these changes? Are you embracing your fresh start? Can you laugh about the truth that is being revealed in your own life? Can you maintain a sense of humor about the things you are dealing with, the people you meet, and the overall tone in your day to day experiences? When people look at you what do you represent? Are you a symbol for your environment? Are you in harmony with your surrounding to the extent that you reflect back the values of the land around you? How can you create more harmony with the way you live your life compared to the land in which you desire to live? Can we create a balance between responsibility and freedom? Tuesday September 25th ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Aries Sun square Saturn What it means: I mentioned yesterday with the full moon that Saturn was square the sun-moon opposition. Today the sun-Saturn square is exact. We might feel blocked, or frustrated. But the proper response to this type of energy is to rise up and overcome that which is holding you back. Depending on where this is happening in your own chart it can show up differently in your own life. Maybe you are sick and tired of being a victim of circumstance you you decide to rise up and fight against the injustice in your life. Maybe you are sick of being financially dependent on another so you decide to rise up and develop your own source of income. Maybe you are sick and tired of being fat and lazy so you decide to rise up and take matters into your own hands and get moving on a plan to re-create your life as you know it. You notice in all of these examples there is no quick fix. With Saturn there never is a quick fix. But with all of these things we have the motivation in the present moment (sun) to deal with the long term nature or our goals (Saturn). Or you can just live with the thing that’s making you miserable. It’s up to you. Questions to ask: What is holding me back? What obstacles am I running into right now? How can I overcome the obstacles and no longer allow outside forces to hold me back from the life I truly deserve? Wednesday September 26th ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Aries void-of-course at 4:28 AM CDT It’s a quiet day with an all day long void-of-course moon. Take it easy, stick to routine tasks, and hold off until tomorrow to start anything new. Thursday September 27th ~ What’s going on today: Moon enters Taurus at 2:16 AM CDT Sun trine Mars What it means: Sun trine Mars is great energy for athletics or just for getting things done in general. We feel good, we feel alive, we feel energetic. While neither the sun nor Mars is well placed with this aspect we still feel a boost in our energy levels. Since both planets are in air signs we may notice that our minds are particularly active today (plus yesterday and tomorrow, too). If we are having trouble thinking too much go ahead and find a physical outlet for your energy and that will help to mitigate an overactive mind. Questions to ask: What can I do today that helps me feel alive? What can I accomplish both physically and mentally to gain that sense of achievement that I crave? Friday September 28th ~ Moon in Taurus void-of-course at 5:36 PM CDT With the moon in Taurus the story is slow and steady wins the race. Once the moon goes-void-of-course late afternoon it’s a good time to take off and start your weekend at home with a simple meal of comfort food. Allow yourself to relax tonight, you deserve it. Saturday September 29th ~ What’s going on today: Moon enters Gemini at 8:26 AM CDT The pace is much quicker today with the moon moving into mercurial Gemini after spending the last couple of days in slower moving Taurus. If you have some multi-tasking to do today the lunar energy will help with that! It’s also a great vibe to explore the neighborhood and catch up with friends. Sunday September 30th ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Gemini void-of-course at 10:38 AM CDT Pluto Station Direct What it means: As with other outer planets the stations are the most impactful time or the retrograde cycle. Photo by Jordan Whitfield on Unsplash This photo represents the combination of two Sabian Symbols for today's full moon in Aries. We are welcoming balance into our lives as Mercury moves into the sign of Libra today and the sun moves into Libra tomorrow. When the sun enters Libra it is the Autumn Equinox which is the first day of fall.
How can you create more balance in your own life? Balance within and without? Balance between your head and your heart? Balance between yourself and your partner? Balance between work and home? Balance is ongoing because once we do achieve it was still need to make adjustments to maintain that highly sought-after balance. Photo by KT on Unsplash We still have some nice earth energy happening this week to help us make actual real world progress. So with that in mind what are you working toward?
Monday September 10th ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Virgo void-of-course at 9:12 AM MDT Moon enters Libra at 9:20 AM MDT Mars enters Aquarius What it means: Mars went direct in Capricorn after he finished up his retrograde cycle just a couple of weeks ago. So here he is, making his way back into the sign of Aquarius for the second time this year. He first entered Aquarius in mid May. He went retrograde in Aquarius near the end of June. He dipped back into Capricorn in mid August. And now he is headed back into Aquarius where he stays until mid November. Mars is a powerful planet and to have him go over the same territory for such a long span of time (May through November) puts a lot of pressure for those of us with planets in the sign of Aquarius. Mars wants to take action. He can be reckless if he is not thoughtfully directed though so try to think about the big picture and what you are trying to accomplish over this period of time. The sign of Aquarius is often linked to revolutionaries and inventors so you can think about what areas of your life are in the process of being revolutionized and what ideas are just waiting to be invented. Fighting for what you believe in is important, just make sure you are fighting the right battle. Sometimes Mars will simply fight for the sake of fighting, instead of serving a larger goal. Ask yourself if your current battle is in your own best interest and if it is also serving the greater good. Aquarius is, after all, a humanitarian. Questions to ask: Am I fighting the good fight? Is there a greater meaning to my actions? How can I revolutionize my life? How can I better serve my own best interest and align that with the greater good? Tuesday September 11th ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Libra void-of-course at 4:47 PM MDT Sun sextile Jupiter Sun trine Pluto What it means: Jupiter and Pluto make an exact trine aspect tomorrow and today the sun is connecting the two of them. The three planet pattern of sun, Jupiter and Pluto is what I call a wealth signature. Your investments pay off … so what are you investing in? Hopefully things that have deep meaning (Pluto), things that bring you joy (the sun), and things that have room to grow (Jupiter). Look around your life today and see what you are investing in both metaphorically and realistically in your life. Investments should add value to your bottom line, whether we are talking about friendships, work, finances or hobbies. There is an optimism to this aspect that is really delightful, even if I can hardly believe I am using the word “delightful” to describe anything involving Pluto. Still, there it is. We feel good. We grow toward deeper meaning and richer life experience. Invest in yourself today. Questions to ask: Am I investing my time, money, emotions and energy wisely? As I adding value to my life through my associations? How can I increase the meaning in my life on a daily basis? Wednesday September 12th ~ What’s going on today: Moon enters Scorpio at 12:15 PM MDT Jupiter sextile Pluto Venus opposite Uranus Venus sextile Saturn What it means: We have a lot going on today, starting with the exact sextile of Jupiter and Pluto (see yesterday for more info on this). Jupiter expands everything it touches and Pluto is represents power, fear, depth, history, transformation and so much more. Yesterday I talked about how Jupiter and Pluto together can show a wealth signature and wealth and power do kind of go hand in hand. This is a sextile so the energy here is supportive but if you have Pluto problems this can easily go another way for you. Since Jupiter expands what it touches if you are struggling with grief, death, trauma or any similar themes this day can bring out some of those hidden feelings. If that happens then allow yourself the kindness to process things with love so that you can release what no longer serves you emotionally. Venus is creating a 3 planet pattern today by connecting Uranus and Saturn. Her opposition to Uranus can be a little uncomfortable, it’s like learning to love your weirdness and your awkwardness. If you can do now can you love the other person’s weirdness, too? There can also be a need for independence in relationships under this influence. Now the Venus aspect to Saturn is quite the opposite. Can you love your regular old boring bits? How about your partner’s boringness? I am kind of joking but kind of not joking, too. Where Venus-Uranus desires independence now Venus-Saturn desires stability and commitment. The real question is how to balance both aspects of yourself and create harmony with your partner’s need for the same balance of independence and stability. Questions to ask yourself: Am I using my power wisely? Are hidden issues coming to the surface and if so how can I come to terms with those issues? How can I balance personal freedom with stability and commitment in my life? How can I embrace both my normalness and my uniqueness? Thursday September 13th ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Scorpio Mercury opposite Neptune What it means: Questions to ask: How can I simplify my responsibilities? How can I prioritize and then let go of things which aren’t really that important in the grand scheme of things? What an I do to meet my obligations in a manner that allows for a firm foundation for the future to be built? Friday September 14th ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Scorpio void-of-course at 2:54 AM MDT Moon enters Sagittarius at 4:45 PM MDT We have a void-of-course moon most of the day which means keep your head low and just take care of standard business. We often feel aimless or our mind wanders during a void-of-course moon so do what you can to stay focused and know that by early evening this feeling will have passed. Saturday September 15th ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Leo Sagittarius Mercury trine Pluto What it means: Mercury rules the thoughts we think and the words we say, among other things. Pluto rules our shadow side, our secrets, our fears. Put them together and we can rephrase our thinking today in order to support the exploration of our shadow side. We can talk about our secrets in a manner that is healthy and accepting. We can shape courage in our mind to face our fears. Questions to ask yourself: What can I do today that helps to reframe my dark side? How can I use my thoughts and words to empower myself? Sunday September 16th ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Sagittarius void-of-course at 5:15 PM MDT Mercury sextile Jupiter What it means: With Mercury Jupiter aspects the keywords are to “think big”! Have you been selling yourself or your plans short? If so you can utilize Jupiter’s natural expansion and optimism to lighten up and reach for the stars. Questions to ask yourself: How can I expand my thinking to harness my natural optimism? What are you building toward this week? The big news this week is Saturn station direct. Things are heavy. Important. There is pressure. Stress. But if we do the hard work we can trust that things will work out in the end. The end of the week has a lovely New Moon in Virgo to help us take care of the practical details to get us where we want to be in the life.
Monday September 3rd ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Gemini Mercury sextile Venus What it means: Whenever we have a soft aspect involving Mercury and Venus I always think of the classics. Austen, Van Gogh, Mozart and other similar artists with a softer and lighter side evident in their work, often with a sense of humor, too. Harmonious words. Clever patterns. An interesting journey within something that might seem at first glance to be rather simple and straightforward. I bring this up because with this aspect active today you can invoke it by adding some beauty into your life, too, whether through writing, art, music or whatever you enjoy. This might be as simple as stopping to smell the roses or taking a few moments to appreciate a street performer. It’s allowing yourself to enjoy the art we encounter on a daily basis. Questions to ask: How can I make my day today more beautiful, more harmonious, more artistic? How can I make the thoughts I think and the words I say more loving? Tuesday September 4th ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Gemini void-of-course at 12:37 AM MDT Moon enters Cancer at 6:04 AM MDT The moon in Cancer wants to protect emotions and there are many ways to do that. Some might want isolation. Some might want only their closest friends and family around them. Others might do daily practices to shield their emotions from the interference of others such as surrounding themselves with white light or asking for protection from the angels. Whatever method you prefer know that it’s okay to protect your emotions when you are feeling vulnerable. You can take emotional risks another day. Wednesday September 5th ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Cancer Mercury enters Virgo What it means: Mercury moves into his home sign of Virgo today, leaving behind his history of retrograde in Leo, finally. For those of us strongly affected by the retrograde cycle it’s a relief to have a strong Mercury who is happy again in his own domain. Mercury in Virgo is a wonderful editor. Remember that the job of a good editor is not just to make sure that the words used are appropriate but also to remove any superfluous words. Saying too much is just as bad as using the wrong phrasing. With this in mind you can use these next few weeks to edit your own thoughts and words. Do you think too much? Do you say too much? This transit is wonderful for getting down to a precise phrasing that works for you. If you have issues with negative self-talk this transit can help. I know Virgo is known as being critical but you can use that to your advantage and reframe your constant messages to yourself in a manner that is more effective. Mercury remains in Virgo until September 23rd so get to work! Questions to ask yourself: Do I think too much? Can I edit my thoughts in a way that allows only the important, supportive and relevant messages come through? Do I over share? If so how can I edit my words so I share enough but not too much? Thursday September 6th ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Cancer void-of-course at 6:43 AM MDT Moon enters Leo at 7:54 AM MDT Saturn Station Direct What it means: Cue the heavy music indicative that the hero is about to face a difficult challenge. Whatever is going on it your life right now you feel like the burden is almost too much to carry. That’s okay though. What we are all learning is how to streamline and simplify an area of our lives in order to make a stable foundation on which to grow from in the future. For example, if Saturn is aspecting your Venus then you might be trying to let go of relationship patterns that are overly complicated in order to create something that is more stable and lasting. Depending on where Saturn is hitting your natal chart you will feel it in that area of your life. For me transit Saturn is conjunct my natal Mars in my fourth house of home and I have the gargantuan task of organizing a cross country move in one month. Not just packing and unpacking but also finding a mover, a new place to live, sorting through all our belongings to pack, toss, donate or sell. The list seems endless. I have so much activity (Mars) that I am responsible for (Saturn) in regards to my home (fourth house) that I am forced to simplify the process just to keep my sanity. You are probably dealing with something completely different in your own life but whatever it is the stakes are just as high and the responsibilities just as real. As we set ourselves up to succeed (or fail, if we are in that mindset) Saturn pays attention and gives us our due. Of all the planets Saturn is the one that rewards you for working hard or punishes you for slacking off. What are you doing in your life right now? The rewards of Saturn are worth the hard work, and the punishments worth avoiding. So even if things seem like just too much you can do it. Things will start to lighten up in a week or two when Saturn is actually moving direct again, although it takes him over a month to move a full degree which means he is still very slow for quite some time. I only mention it because if you feel stuck for a while I want you to know that no matter what, this too shall pass! Questions to ask: How can I simplify my responsibilities? How can I prioritize and then let go of things which aren’t really that important in the grand scheme of things? What an I do to meet my obligations in a manner that allows for a firm foundation for the future to be built? Friday September 7th ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Leo Mercury Trine Uranus Mercury Trine Saturn Sun Opposite Neptune What it means: Saturn might still be sitting still after yesterday’s direct station but Mercury is helping things along. I love Mercury. He’s a troublemaker but he’s also a planet that keeps things going. Mercury in Virgo creates a Grand Earth Trine by connecting Uranus in Taurus and Saturn in Capricorn. This allows us to get shit done! We can take care of practical matters, even if it takes hard work. Especially if it’s something that is making a change (Uranus) in order to create a firmer foundation (Saturn). All of this earth energy is helping us implement things in the real world after this past summer’s eclipse season. If you need to change your thinking in order to make the practical changes this is a great energy to support that as well. A word of caution today with the sun opposite Neptune. The planets are asking us to be practical and here we are confronted by delusion. This might be because things aren’t exactly how we want them to be. Or things are exactly what we thought they were. Engaging with your dreams is important but you don’t want to do it to the point you are fooling yourself. On the bright side this energy is excellent for spiritual connection and psychic work. Questions to ask: What changes in my life can I implement right now? What practical things can I do to make a real impact in my life? How can I change my thinking to be more supportive of my goals? How can I call on my dreams without deluding myself? How can I integrate both fantasy and reality into my life in a healthy manner? How can I have a more spiritual approach to the day? Saturday September 8th ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Leo void-of-course at 7:31 AM MDT Moon enters Virgo at 8:29 AM MDT Venus Square Mars What it means: In some ways Venus square Mars can represent the battle of the sexes. In other ways it’s sensuality. And it’s also tactile and active appreciation of simply being alive. Life is good. And life is dirty, gritty, frustrating, beautiful, scintillating and everything in between. If you are at odds with the opposite sex today I am not surprised. But I am also not surprised if you are turned on, feeling vibrant, flirting or just adding a little pizazz and sway to your step. Engage your senses, whether that is through food, art, gardening or with a partner. This is a nice spark. Let yourself sizzle today! Questions to ask yourself: What can I do today that engages all of my senses? How can I balance my masculine and feminine sides? Sunday September 9th ~ What’s going on today: New Moon in Virgo Venus enters Scorpio What it means: New moons are always times of infusing energy into an area of life. Those of us who work with astrology can use new moons to deliberately harness this energy and to make the most of it. By looking at where the new moon falls is your chart it gives you an idea about what area of life to focus on. Personally this new moon at 17 Virgo falls right on my Ascendent and so signifies a brand new cycle in my life and the opportunity to re-create myself. I’ll take it! This new moon makes some really nice aspects to both Jupiter in Scorpio and Pluto in Capricorn. The change (Pluto) we implement in our life right now can be positive with a lot of room to grow into something even better (Jupiter). The new moon is also in opposition to Neptune so the things we do now should be serving a higher purpose than just our own self. Allow yourself to be an instrument of higher good and this will serve you very well as you make these much needed changes. The Sabian Symbol for the new moon falls right on the edge of two different symbols. First is “A volcanic eruption”. And the second one is “A Ouija Board”. Depending on what’s going on in your own life either or both can be relevant. As we discuss the first symbol a volcanic eruption is self-evident. It’s change. Violent, drastic upheaval. In my own life we are moving from Montana to Texas which is indeed quite an upheaval! Everything in our lives is changing except for the most basic foundational things. You may be going through something similar, if not a cross country move then an enormous change that makes your life look different from many angles. The second symbol, a ouija board, is about receiving messages from the other side. Are you taking action that is being guided by spirit? Are you letting those messages come through or does the idea of messages from the other side scare you? The other occurrence today is lovely Venus entering the sign of Scorpio. Venus likes things to be easy going and light-hearted but the sign of Scorpio is brooding and intense. That’s obviously a strong stereotype but it’s enough to say that Venus isn’t very comfortable in Scorpio. One good way to use this transiot it to think about the dark arts, and how there is beauty in the darker side of life, even if we don’t always like looking at it or acknowledging it. Another good use of this energy is to delve into mystical areas like tarot cards or whatever else might be calling you. Venus will have her retrograde cycle in Scorpio so this is an unusually long stay for her. She remains in Scorpio until January 8, 2019 with a stop in Libra basically covering the month of November. Questions to ask yourself: Where in my life can I infuse positive energy in order to make the changes I know I need to make? How can I do this from a spiritual perspective? How do I love to learn the darkness? How to I appreciate my shadow side? What’s your week look like? What are you aiming at? Photo by Guilherme Cunha on Unsplash |
