ASTROLOGY ❤️🌎☀️ (also known as hey I know it’s been a struggle but hey, there is hope!) We deserve some lightening up after being bombarded by the heavy energies of Saturn station retrograde on Monday and Pluto station retrograde last week. We have been feeling the pain, one way or another! But the next day or two we have the opportunity to reframe our thoughts to be able to face the our obstacles with newfound determination and if we are lucky, even a sense of humor! Starting early Wednesday morning (May 1st), or tonight if you are on the west coast, we begin a series of Mercury aspects that help us to better understand what’s going on. Mercury represents the thoughts we think and the words we say and when we go through the darkness often our thoughts and words similarly darken and we can choose to deliberately take responsibility (ahem … Saturn station) for what goes on in our minds and what we say to ourselves and others. The first aspect Mercury makes is a sextile to Mars which happens early Wednesday/late Tuesday depending on where you are. Our mind is invigorated. Mars in Gemini reminds Mercury in Aries what freedom of thought truly is and what being unrestrained feels like. Ah it’s like a breath of fresh air, especially after the repression we have been going through lately. Our minds are powerful. Our thoughts create things. Our words shape our actions. Our mind is energized. It’s appropriate that our warrior energy has been strengthened because this series of aspects truly is a mental battle. The next aspect which happens early Wednesday morning is a square from Mercury to Saturn. It’s like that rhetorical question: did you really think you could escape your responsibilities? Escape your burdens? The truth is we do need to take responsibility in our lives but we don’t have to suffer because of it. This is the chance to realize (enlightenment) that we choose how we think about what’s happening in our lives. We can struggle in pain and suffering or we can whistle while we work. It’s a choice and we should take responsibility for our outlook and mindset, too. The next aspect happens on Thursday afternoon when Mercury squares Pluto. We do have to face our shadow, our unhealthy patterns of behavior, our core thoughts in order to create new, healthier, more supportive patterns. This makes uncomfortable but we can’t clean the floor by ignoring the dirt so we do have to turn within and pay attention to that which is coming up in an unsettling way right now. We pay attention so that we can take back the power of our own minds and transform our lives from the inside out. The final aspect which peaks late on Thursday is Mercury making a supportive trine to Jupiter. Jupiter is the great benefic. He helps us remember what trust, faith, joy and optimism feels like. We have been fighting a mental battle with ourselves and we are, in the end, victorious. We can celebrate with gratitude and with generosity with ourselves in our thoughts and words. We can forgive ourselves for doubting our own capacity and we can congratulate ourselves for persevering and standing strong. Because even if we crumbled for a moment under the pressure we still managed to fight our way out and stand back up. Most of all we have learned just how powerful our thoughts are and just how much power we have in our own lives by taking charge of the thoughts we think and the words we say. We are amazing. All hail the king, Jupiter, for reminding us of our natural royalty and natural divinity. All of this is happening the next couple of days while we sit in the dark of the moon, preparing for the new moon in Libra on Saturday, May 4th, which offers us the promise of a new relationship first and foremost with ourselves. On Friday, April 19th, we have a powerful, rebellious full moon in Libra. Rebelliousness and Libra aren’t normally used in the same sentence but here we have the sun at the last degree of Aries conjunct Uranus in early Taurus with the full moon opposing those two naturally rebellious placements. Emotional freedom? Why yes, thank you! Often Libra tries to put others before herself. In this case there is the feeling that enough is enough and I need freedom right now! We may feel that we have given everything we have to give to our partner, our cause, our commitment, and that before we go down with the ship it’s time to save ourselves. Such is life. Our survival instinct kicks in naturally. The vibrational patterns in the full moon chart correlate to looking analytically at your own wellbeing. If you feel that a situation is no longer working in your favor you will either decide to take a more analytical and scientific approach to fixing it or you will simply cut the cord. We desperately want a revolution now and if we cannot get said revolution we are willing to jump ship. The patterns repeat. Freedom it is … do or die. Whatever you are obsessing about right now it’s time to take stock and be pragmatic. Stop the emotional investment and look at things from an outside perspective, instead. If things can be salvaged, fine, do it. But if you have been living in some sort of denial of the reality of a situation that is going to come to a head and be clear. Be honest with yourself, but remember that there is no need to be brutal with yourself. Don’t beat yourself up over the choices of the past. Remember that the point of power is always in the present moment and be there, in the present, now. Both the sun and the moon will be moving into new signs shortly after the full moon is exact. Everything comes to a head … the things that we were unwilling to change are now, suddenly changing, and it might be out of our control. We feel things peak and then life goes on. It’s the nature of reality. Nothing remains the same. And that’s okay. This full moon, ultimately, is teaching us how to let go. The reward, after letting go, is emotional freedom. A true story about Saturn, Pluto and the south node in Capricorn: So there’s this mama bird I know. She decided to build her nest right outside my front door. This started yesterday morning and already I am inappropriately emotionally attached to her story. How can she possibly raise her babies in this spot? I am worried about her and the choices she is making. I am worried her nest will get destroyed by a passerby. Or that she will abandon her eggs or her babies when the humans come too close. There is no other way in or out. My family and our neighbors have no option but to walk by. I wish her only the best but I fear a tragedy might be unfolding right before my eyes. Be careful where you build your nest. Is the area sustainable? It’s better to let go before you become too fully invested but I don’t think I can tell mama bird that. I don’t want to see her hard work destroyed. I remember being a young girl and trying to save a similar nest after it blew out of a tree but that mama, years ago, abandoned her young after us kiddos found it. Maybe this new story will end differently. I hope so. And yet I am already grieving for her eventual loss. Maybe I am not being fair but life seems precarious to begin with, and even more so in this type of situation. She is already panicking about our presence. It will only get worse as she claims more of her new home and has eggs then baby birds to worry about in there. The face off seems inevitable. Being an empath isn’t limited to other humans. I understand how she feels. I don’t know how to make this work out for all involved. Something’s got to give. Mama bird somehow has integrated the sprinkles from my own daughter’s birthday cake into her nest. There is this symbolism here about taking care of your children, her children, my children. We are all connected and still I don’t know how to make it all okay. Saturn, Pluto and the South Node in Capricorn. |
