Time for more (shadow) work
As if we haven’t been inundated with personal growth work lately today we have Mars in Virgo making a trine to Pluto in Capricorn. This is a signature often correlated with shadow work but honestly, any type of self-improvement work will do! If the work you are doing now helps to enable the accomplishment of your long term goals even better. I know the energy is powerful right now and this allows us to see real progress, but only if we actually do the work that rises before us. Photo by Kiwihug on Unsplash

Saturn stations direct on the south node today. They have been hanging out together for a while now but as with any station the energy of the stationing planet becomes much stronger. Time to let go. Time to overcome all the resistance that had been building. I know I have felt it, and I know you have, too. Sometimes facing resistance, internal or external, helps us to rise up and be our best selves. Other times it brings on bouts with depression and anxiety, and we feel like giving up. Today I am asking you to trust that there is a solution. Trust that you can find a way. I know the burden is heavy and that you want things to simply be different than they are right now. We now release old patterns, people and things in order to set the foundation for a better life. This is not a quick process. In fact, we will be working on these themes into January 2020 and beyond. Pay attention to what’s going on right now with you. It’s about to get harder before it gets easier. But with practice we shall overcome the obstacles before us. Imagine you are building your own city on the mountaintop. It’s a metaphor for your current struggles. If you care to share them I would love to hear what obstacles you are committed to face and overcome right now. As I said this theme will continue and I know it’s already been going on for a while now. For me it’s since May (Saturn went retrograde on April 29th just FYI) that I have been focused on healing my body and improving my health. What’s your current struggle? Having support (Saturn) can help.

The moon moves into Taurus today giving us a sense of feeling emotionally grounded despite the pressures we are all dealing with right now. This is the buildup. It’s beginning. Between now and January 2020 we are going to feel escalating pressures. We aren’t just feeling them, they are real, and we have to figure out what to do about it. We resolve our challenges in the best way we know how, but now this is about finding new solutions to old problems so that we can rise up, transcend, and move to the next level in our human experience. The boss fight is coming. Be ready. Photo by Jude Beck on Unsplash
What are our actions actually accomplishing?
Mars opposes Neptune today giving us doubts as to whether or not you feel your actions are accomplishing what you set out to achieve. As long as you are acting with good intentions trust the universe that there is Purpose. On a completely different note we have both Mercury and Venus moving into the air sign of Libra, giving us a boost off the ground after being in the earth sign of Virgo. These two planets in Libra free us from the practical day to day concerns of Virgo and elevate our attention toward things like art, literature, beauty and conversation. Let’s hope it also elevates the dialog so that we can see both sides of any given issue. Photo by Alex Azabache on Unsplash In addition to the Full Moon in Pisces today we have several other aspects occurring and flavoring the mix. Mercury and Venus conjoin in the final degree of Virgo giving us an appreciation for the finer things in life including the fine print. The Sun and Pluto make a trine giving an air or courage to the shadow work that lies before us. Mars and Neptune are preparing for a showdown tomorrow. But the big deal, the biggest deal is the Full Moon in Pisces.
Looking at the chart of the Full Moon awakens my compassion. It even makes my heart hurt. There are so many wrongs in our world. And yet we seem to only be able to do little things, make small contributions, instead of making the massive changes needed in order to create a more compassionate reality for everyone out there. That is the story of this full moon. What can I do, little me, to make a difference? The existential crisis that arises, the question of “Does it even matter?” is one you will feel if you are being triggered by this full moon. The answer must be answered within, but remember the spell: As Above, So Below As Within, So Without If you decide it doesn’t matter, your energy resonates on a larger scale and contributes to the uncaring in our society. What happens inside of you is reflected on the outside, too, by those you meet and your life experience. Even if we are helpless to make any sort of impact the desire to try, the desire to improve things, even just a little bit, is worth something. The Sabian Symbol for the Full Moon is “The Prophet Bringing Down The New Law From The Mountain.” This represents the spiritual laws by which we choose to live. What spiritual laws do you want to live by? How can faith play a role in bringing about the world in which you would be grateful and glad to live? Are you listening to the oracle that lives within you, in the form of your own intuition, your own conscience? I am not a fan of letting others tell me what to do, and I don’t expect others like it any more than me. And this symbol carries that warning to avoid following blindly what someone else says is right. Use your heart, use your brain, use your gut in deciding for yourself what is “right” for you. I pray that solution is also “right” for all involved. Photo by malith dk on Unsplash Run a Marathon or Go to Anger Management
Powerful Mars makes a strong square to expansive Jupiter today. On the tough side of the equation this can lead to explosive anger. On the more positive side we should have abundant energy to accomplish any job you choose to tackle. Whatever comes up for you work on being present and open to the possibility that that the situation holds more for you than on first glance. Push yourself but be careful not to burn yourself. Photo by Chema Photo on Unsplash It’s a quiet day, with an all day long void-of-course moon. What that means is that you will likely feel unmotivated, and it can be difficult to focus. It’s a good time to stick to routine tasks instead of starting something new. It’s also a difficult day historically so many may feel a sense of surrealness as the day unfolds, exacerbated by the aimless moon.
Photo by Andraz Lazic on Unsplash Let's talk about The Tower ~ this week's Card of the Week The Tower burns ... we cannot stay here any more. We must jump for our lives, or perish. The old ways are destroyed. There is no clear path of escape. We must run for our lives.
When the tower shows up often we do feel the panic rising ... things are falling apart in our lives and we fear the unknown. But the truth is that things wouldn't fall apart so dramatically if they had been in alignment. We need a clean slate. A fresh start. And the tower burns away everything in our lives that isn't working and shoves us into the next phase of our lives. We can go into that next phase kicking and screaming and we often do. The waves in the card represent the tumultuous emotions we feel as we go through this sudden and unexpected change. We are well advised to embrace the change but fear of the unknown and often trauma for our losses make this process more complicated than at glance. We often can see that ultimately this is a good thing but it doesn't *feel* good right away. I have included Ganesh here as he is the remover of obstacles and that sentiment is valid under the chaos of the tower. I have included clear quartz for clarity for true sight and for energy in pushing through this time of massive change. I also have included black tourmaline for release: release of the past, of the trauma, of the pain, of our ego. We can invoke the tower if needed but it's usually something that comes uninvited. But sooner or later it comes to all of us. And allowing it to wash you clean. You might need to deal with the debris left from the fall, but from there you do have a clean start. And there is something to be said for a new beginning, however it has come about. My card is from the Robin Wood Tarot ~ Join us on The Rich Witch FaceBook Page! Watery Showdown Brings The Magic
The Sun opposes Neptune today in what is certain to be a gut wrenching and and hand wringing occasion. The Sun in Virgo wants to be practical and get things done. Neptune in Pisces wants to surrender to the spiritual side of things and lacking that, to the emotional side. We can get lost is self doubt if we let ourselves focus on that type of thinking. The only way to combat this is to focus on your idealistic vision of life. Serving your ideals, and looking on the bright side in that way, is the only path to seeing it through. Hope, not doubt, must rule the day. And we have the power to choose where to put our energy. That, in truth, is our essential magic. Photo by Jong Marshes on Unsplash |
