All About Mercury - Week of October 15, 2018

Weekly Forecast ~ Week of October 15th

With a week of mostly Mercury aspects we get a respite from the heavy energy we have been dealing with these past few weeks.  Mercury gives us a wonderful opportunity this week to get our thoughts aligned and where we want them to be. We need to do this because next week we have a shocker of a full moon coming up so we want to make sure we are adequately grounded before the lightning strikes!

Monday October 15th ~
What’s going on today:  
Moon in Capricorn
Mercury Conjunct Venus in Scorpio

What it means:
I like to think of Mercury Venus aspects as beautiful words.  On a deep level this represents how you talk to yourself and to others.  The sign of Scorpio is often related to our personal (and ancestral) history.  With that in mind are you recognizing your own personal growth and achievement over time?  We can often carry negative baggage with us as a result of something that happened to us in the past.  And a day like today gives us the opportunity to rephrase (Mercury) our roots (Scorpio) with love (Venus).  Work on acknowledging the strength, courage, commitment and simple humanity of your experience. Do it with kindness and compassion and we can in fact rewrite history.

Questions to ask:
Are you recognizing your own personal growth and achievement over time?  How can you rephrase the way in which you define yourself?


Tuesday October 16th ~

We have only lunar aspects today with the moon turning void-of-course late afternoon.  That means get your tasks done early today and allow yourself to just take care of routine things in the evening.

With the moon in Aquarius today we are driven by ideas.  What’s on your mind today? Aquarians are the inventors of the zodiac so see how you can be more inventive in your own life.


Thursday October 18th ~

Moon in Aquarius

Another day with the moon in Aquarius and this gives you license to truly just be yourself.  Be unique, be weird, be different. Accepting your own differences makes it easier to accept the differences in others which ultimately makes the world a better place.


Friday October 19th ~

Moon enters Pisces ar 3:20 PM CDT
Mercury Trine Neptune
Mercury Square Mars

What it means:  
Mercury makes two aspects today.  First is a trine to Neptune which can represent connecting with our source of inspiration, connecting to our intuition, or simply connecting to Source.  I love to use Mercury aspects to improve our own self-talk as well as our communication with others. With that in mind the question arise: are the thoughts I think and the words I say sacred and divinely inspired?  If not, why not? As we move closer to source energy we become more at peace with ourselves.

The second Mercury aspect is a square to Mars which is many ways is an opposite energy but today I’d like to tie these two aspects together.  We begin with the divine inspiration from Neptune and then, with Mars, what can we do about it? What action can we take in the real world that can bring us closer to divinity?  We might have to give something up, or come into conflict with a long held belief, to make this transition work. But spirituality can’t just be in our heads, it must also be in our actions, if it is to work.

Questions to ask:
Are the thoughts I think and the words I say sacred?  Do I recognize divine inspiration in my life? What actions can I take in the real world that can bring me closer to divinity?

Moon in Pisces

The moon in Pisces loves fantasy so allow yourself to delve into a magical world today.  Magic is all around us, if we just believe. We can follow rainbows and unicorns and still be present.  Have fun with your imagination!


Sunday October 21st ~
What’s going on today:
Moon in Pisces void-of-course at 6:47 PM CDT

We have another day with the moon in Pisces which is wonderful for prayer work, chanting, rituals or whatever spiritual practice you enjoy.  Pisces is all about being connected to something larger than yourself and spiritual practices are often a path to that connection.
