It's a busy day in the skies today. All of the aspects are lunar aspects meaning that they are not very powerful except for the new moon in Taurus which is an exception to that rule. New moons set the tone for the month and as such empower us to work on certain areas of our lives as shown in the chart. But more about that later!

We begin with a soft moon-Venus conjunction in Taurus which is exact at 1:12 AM. This is a sweet aspect that makes us feel comfortable reaching out to our long time friends, especially the women in our life.

The moon in Taurus next makes a sextile to Neptune in Pisces which peaks at 7:32 AM. Might be difficult to get out of bed today if you are trying to get up around this time. This aspect likes comfort and dreams, so staying in bed seems like a very good option!

Our next aspect is a trine from the moon to Jupiter at 10:06 AM. Generosity and emotional optimism is what this aspect creates. We feel good and secure for the moment and this is a welcome feeling.

The grounded and calm new moon at 16 Taurus 41 occurs this coming at 3:29 PM. The new moon in Taurus asks us to create more stability in our lives. If you look at your natal chart (something we can help you with if you do not know how) you can see where this new moon is active in your life. The Sabian Symbol for 17 Taurus (you round up to the next degree for Sabian Symbols) is “A symbolic battle between SWORDS and TORCHES”. This is a battle between might (swords) and enlightenment (torches). Are you trying to force things to happen using power or allowing spiritual to lead you on your path? Does the end really defy the means? Ideally we will balance wisdom and power both instead of allowing things to because so polarized. Are you able to exist in a state of balance or is one side winning the battle?

Next up is a trine aspect from the moon to Pluto at 4:37 PM. There is a depth to this aspect that allows us to feel things intensely and delve into what is hiding there under the surface. And since it is a trine that feels appropriate and not too risky. We are safe to look at how we really feel and the deeper emotions and motivations that might otherwise remain hidden from view.

For the last aspect of the day there is a conjunction between the moon and Mercury in Taurus. I usually say this is a time where our mind and heart are aligned and while this is true today as well with Mercury retrograde and both planets in Taurus I would think that there is not actually a lot of pondering going on … more like we sit with our concerns instead of trying to solve them. Presence and acceptance is a powerful tool so if you can manage to do this it is an art form you are accomplishing.

The recommended stone to work with today is smoky quartz as it is known for it's calming and grounding qualities and resonate well with the Taurus energy.

An essential oil to work with today is rose otto which promotes grounding and acceptance through all situations.
