It's a MENTAL day! Air signs like Aquarius and Gemini are intellectual and we often are more active in our own heads on these days than might otherwise be healthy for us! If you feel like you are too aware of your own thoughts and can't get out of them try taking a walk, moving in your body, taking some deep breaths. Reconnect with your breath in order to remind yourself that you are more than just a brain.


The big news today is Jupiter Retrograde! From February 6 to June 9, 2017, Jupiter is in apparent retrograde motion in the sign of Libra. What does this mean?


Jupiter = expansion, morality, optimism, luck, generosity


Retrograde (Rx) = rethink, reconsider


Libra = fairness, equality, diplomacy, relationships


With Jupiter stationing retrograde we can feel that the optimism in our lives is coming to a halt. When planets turn retrograde we often feel that that are missing from our lives and with Jupiter we find we miss the optimism, luck, and generosity that comes with a healthy Jupiter. The challenge then becomes this: How do we remain optimistic when we see the world around us getting darker?


I try to avoid political issues but with Jupiter retrograde bringing up issues of diplomacy and fairness I feel compelled to say a little bit about the current political climate. I wish President Trump was more diplomatic. I wish he treated people with more equity and fairness. I wish he treated people he relates with, both on a personal level and on an international public level, with more respect and generosity. This theme is one I expect to expand and become more polarized over the next few months. I fully expect our president to alienate more allies and enemies both through a lack of diplomacy and lack of generosity (retrograde Jupiter in Libra).


What can we do about it?


Change starts within. You want more diplomacy in the world? Be more diplomatic. You want more generosity in the world? Be more generous. You want more fairness in the world? Be more fair. We can treat even people with whom we strongly disagree with respect and kindness because that is what we want more of in the world. I do not create more kindness by being cruel. I create more by being kind and doing so every chance I get. All relationships have value. Treat them as such.


In other news the moon is void-of-course tonight, beginning at 5:53 PM EST. This means get your important tasks done early today and tonight is best used for recharging and finishing up old tasks. Routine tasks are also good to take care of under a void-of-course moon but we tend to feel unmotivated so keep that in mind. Save new tasks until tomorrow.
