Going deeper. The value of diving into depth.

Even if you think you know enough about astrology to be dangerous to yourself (lol joking ... kinda) one of the great things about this field is that we can always look deeper.


One profound method to go deeper is to choose one point or planet in your chart and devote yourself to learning more and studying as much about it as you can. Meditate upon it. Ask it to talk to you. Read or consult with experts about what this means in general and more specifically what it means for you.


I like to choose transiting outer planets to look at when doing this. A planet in transit is where it is in the sky at this very moment in relation to your natal chart. Outer planets are the planets from Jupiter and beyond (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto). For example, I have been going through a series of major Neptune transits these past few years and so Neptune is a great planet for me to study, convene with, talk about, and explore.


By delving deeper we can learn the secrets about what is really going on here. Getting back to my Neptune example I have had to learn to let go of outcomes and learn to trust that the current will carry me to a safe harbor, even if that isn't exactly what I had in mind when I set out on my journey. The deeper lessons that each planet carries with it take time to truly understand. Our comprehension is always growing and evolving as we evolve as human beings. Someone could have told me about what insights Neptune would bring me years ago but until I practice with the ideas and bring it into my realm of experience I cannot truly assimilate the lesson.

We would explore how that transit might manifest and what you are currently going through. We would look at the natal placement of the planet, both sign and aspects, and we would investigate the deeper meaning that this one planet has for you on your individual path.


Astrology is best used thoughtfully and practically. We think about what is going on and then we implement those ideas into our daily lives. When we do not take the reins and implement the energy ourselves that is when things start to get weird and the Universe takes over in our lives. By thoughtfully harnessing the energy ourselves we have some semblance of control ... we are dancers dancing to the universal rhythm as opposed to people overwhelmed by the noise all around us. It's a choice. And if you feel overwhelmed you can always choose again!
