Weekly Forecast ~ Week of December 3rd
There seems to be a theme this week involving Mercury and Neptune … great for spiritual work and inner realizations … not as great for getting real things done in the real world. Take heart, fair traveller, the fog will lift and the road ahead will be clear soon enough once more. Monday December 3rd ~ Moon in Libra Void-Of-Course at 12:16 PM CST Moon Enters Scorpio at 1:55 PM CST Once the moon enters Scorpio this afternoon we have 4 bodies in water signs again, and that’s not even including Chiron who is also in a water sign. We had a momentary reprieve but now are back swimming in the ocean. Use this time to get in touch with those deeper emotions that are sometimes repressed. Can you float with them? Can you simply be okay with the feelings you feel? The answer is yes, if you let yourself. Tuesday December 4th ~ Moon in Scorpio We are preparing for Mercury Station Direct on Thursday and the New Moon in Sagittarius on Friday. Personally I waiting for both of those things to occur before I start my Christmas shopping this year! I know … I am usually am early shopper too but this year the energy just hasn’t been supporting that process yet. So if you haven’t shopped yet, like me, be okay holding off until this coming weekend at the earliest. Wednesday December 5th ~ Moon in Scorpio void-of-course at 3:53 PM CST Moon enters Sagittarius at 8:49 PM CST Sun Square Neptune Think you are confused? Maybe you have things backwards? Well today’s sun-Septune square will often bring us to confront some delusion we have been living with … but don’t run away screaming yet! Think of Neptune as thick fog and the sun dispels the fog, right? It does … but the process of discovering what has been hidden in that fog can be difficult. It’s like realizing that the weight loss solution you have been working on has actually caused you to gain more weight. Unpleasant perhaps but without that realization you would stay lost on that path that isn’t really working for you after all. So honor the clarity that comes forward out of the confusion today and make the best of it. Ignorance is not bliss … you just think it is because you don’t know the full story. Thursday December 6th ~ Moon in Sagittarius Mercury Station Direct I know we have been waiting for Mercury to return to his normal, direct motion, for quite some time. And today we have the beginning of that, yay! But I just want to warn you that a stationary Mercury is a problematic Mercury so wait a few days, if you can, to sign that contract or to make that big purchase. Let him get back up to speed and then you will be fine. Friday December 7th ~ New Moon in Sagittarius Mars Conjunct Neptune The new moon in Sagittarius is, like all new moons, a wonderful influx of positive energy into an area of your chart that may have been feeling neglected or untended. Depending of where Sagittarius is in your own chart and where this new moon falls you have the opportunity to set a fresh perspective on life in that area. The sign of Sagittarius is very philosophical. It is about what we believe. Whether we prefer Nietzsche, Dr. Seuss, or Mr. Spock as setting the tone of our personal philosophy in life we have the opportunity to revisit that and refresh it, as needed. The great thing about our own personal belief system is that it continues to evolve over time and we can make adjustments as we gain more wisdom and life experience. The Sagittarius new moon is a wonderful time to do that for yourself. The Sabian Symbol for this new moon is “Sea Gulls Fly Around A Ship In Expectation Of Food”. On one hand I see that seagulls might have found a shortcut for their survival and I realize that it’s human nature, indeed the nature of all living things, to look for the easier way to do things in life. That’s why so many people eat fast food, even when they know it isn’t good for them: it’s easy and there is very little effort required to get it. The sea gulls in this symbol have lost their inherent wildness and instead have become dependent on human society to meet their needs. This gives us all the opportunity the think about where we may have lost a little bit of our own inherent wildness by becoming dependent, as well. We are not saying this is necessarily a bad thing but it is something to spark your brain and think more deeply about your own habits. As if that’s not enough today we also have Mars conjunct Neptune in Pisces. This conjunct is also square the new moon and so is a major player in the new moon energies this month as well. Mars conjunct Neptune reminds me of rainbow chasing. You can never truly find the end of the rainbow but it’s got to be out there somewhere so you look. Putting your energy into something fantastical fits the day. Another way of looking at this conjunction is as spiritual action. Instead of simply saying what you believe in your faith can you also act as you believe? Walk to talk, so to speak? If you believe the world is a good place then act like it. If you believe we are all One then why do we hurt each other? By doing so we are only hurting ourselves. Spiritual action is something more than just an idea, it’s a way of being. This new moon energy with the Mars-Neptune conjunction brings to mind a sand mandala. The Buddhist monks who make these intricate works of art do so as an offering of their belief that the nature of life is transitory. A thing of beauty can be created and then it is destroyed as a part of the ceremony. How can we spend so much time and energy working on something that will only be destroyed in the end? Because we believe that life is sacred and beautiful and that all things must end. Saturday December 8th ~ Moon in Sagittarius void-of-course at 4:00 AM CST Moon enters Capricorn at 6:01 AM CST As we are still under the sway of yesterday’s new moon energy we can apply ourselves toward our own spiritual work, whatever that looks like to us as individuals. We are spiritual creatures and yet we often spend very little time or effort on our spiritual beings. Since the new moon highlighted the tension between spiritual belief and spiritual practice we can use today to move out of our heads (where our belief lies) and into the real world (with our practice). The Capricorn moon supports this as long as we have actual things to do such as a walking meditation, yoga, gardening or even doing dishes. Anything in the physical world can be a spiritual practice if we approach the activity with such an intention. Sunday December 9th ~ Moon in Capricorn The energy today is wonderful for finally getting into those holiday tasks that you haven’t had time for yet this season. Whether it’s shopping or baking or preparing your own special holiday tradition the moon in Capricorn appreciates having something tangible to accomplish. If you don’t celebrate Christmas there is certainly something you have been meaning to do for a while now and today is a great day to make it happen.
