Is it September already? Also known as … The Search for Balance
As the stress and temperatures soared in August it is a welcome relief to begin a new month and have a fresh start. Glancing at September I feel like this will be a generally easier month although there will still be some obstacles, especially toward the end of the month. The highlights for September include:
This list is only what I feel is the most important events of the month and is not a comprehensive list of the transits for September, but there is a lot of delight in here! I wrote about the current Mars cycle in last month’s summary so if you are interested in Mars look back at August 2020. The full moon in Pisces (September 2nd) and the new moon in Virgo are about the tension and paradox between the spiritual realm and the physical realm. Is there room for reality in a spiritual life? Is there space of spirituality in the real world? I am a happy disciple of the Law of Attraction and I find this is the intersection of the idea that our thoughts create our reality, and how can we believe in something when we see evidence to the contrary? For example, if we see we have no money how can we attract or manifest more when we already know that we don’t have any? Or how can I possibly find love when I have never had a successful relationship in my whole life? This is where the tension lies, and the Virgo-Pisces axis is about creating a balance between these two worlds. Or in the Law of Attraction realizing that you don’t need money to feel abundant, and this is the point of attraction. Just like you don’t need a relationship to feel love. I find that among the many priestesses I know that they often have a strong Virgo-Pisces axis in their chart where they can bridge the gap between earthbound reality and infinite source. This is where we get to play this month: on the cosmic shore where earth and dreams meet. Adding to the mix we get the fall equinox, another balancing point where day and night meet as equals. Allowing this time to be a reminder to balance your own inner and outer lives, your own light and darkness, can be a powerful practice this month. Think of your light as your intellect, your personality, your natural warmth, your future. Think of your darkness as your intuition, your inner realm, your natural connection to source, your past. How can these things balance in your own life? What has been neglected? What has been getting too much attention? And make adjustments as needed. Finally, there is Saturn. Saturn stations direct on September 29th. Anytime there is a Saturn station whether retrograde or direct, there is a heaviness that builds up ahead of time. If you are sensitive to Saturn you will usually start noticing it about 2 weeks before the station date, sometimes even more. When I say a “heaviness” it’s like things feel more burdensome, obstacles become more prominent, and there is a seriousness underlying many of the issues being dealt with right now. Saturn direct means the last pass through the tail end of Capricorn before moving into Aquarius (in mid December) to stay until March 2023. Those of us with planets in Aquarius and all fixed signs are getting ready to pay attention! Ultimately I think that’s what Saturn’s message is: pay attention and simplify your life. Mindfulness and simplicity. We can all practice those things this month as we approach this next Saturn station. I’d love to hear how August treated you or how you and feeling about these September transits. Personally I love the equinox and so I am looking forward to finding that balance somewhere!
