Weekly Forecast ~ Week of June 11th
The big news this week is the new moon in Gemini which happens on Wednesday. We can invoke the eternal child inside and see the world through fresh eyes, if we allow ourselves to do so. Monday June 11th ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Taurus void-of-course at 9:29 PM MDT The moon loves to be in Taurus, in fact, for years I secretly wished that my own moon was in the sign of Taurus. Imagine the stability. Imagine the sense of peace. When the moon is Taurus it is a great time to invest in your own stability and your own sense of peace, as well. What can you do today that will make your life more solid and more simple? Tuesday June 12th ~ What’s going on today: Moon enters Gemini at 12:53 AM MDT Mercury enters Cancer What it means: Mercury enters Cancer today which is a big change from his stay in Gemini, his home sign. Mercury rules our thoughts and Cancer is all about our feelings so there is something of a disconnect between the energy of Mercury compared to the energy of Cancer. However, we can utilize this energy to promote loving thoughts within our minds Just beware of “crabby” thoughts! Another way to use this placement is to work on developing your intuitive gifts. Cancer is a natural intuitive and Mercury can help bring our intuition into our conscious awareness. Questions to ask yourself: Are your thoughts loving and nurturing? How can you reframe them to be more supportive? Wednesday June 13th ~ What’s going on today: New Moon in Gemini at 22d44m Moon void-of-course at 1:43 PM MDT Mercury sextile Uranus Venus enters Leo What it means: Gemini is the sign of curiosity and under this new moon we have the opportunity to embrace our own innate curiosity. I like to use new moons to invoke and trigger an area of my life, to activate it, so to speak. With this new moon you can begin a new adventure in an area of life that needs more exploration. The Sabian Symbol for 23 Gemini is “Three Fledglings In A Nest High In A Tree” giving us the sense that we might not yet have learned how to spread our wings and fly. We are not alone since there are other fledglings with us but none of us really knows what to do or how to do it. We are true beginners. Embrace the beginner’s mind for this new moon and look upon your own life with new eyes to see what might be new there for you to learn. With Mercury sextile Uranus we have something of an echo of the new moon in Gemini. Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury so we have a resonance created. The big message here is to be in the moment and to embrace your natural spontaneity. In short, have fun! Later today Venus enters the sign of Leo and I can’t help but get a vision of the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland. This is unfair to everyone with Venus in Leo (my husband included) but there is still a little bit of truth there, too. Venus in Leo can be prideful and something of a dictator even, when she is having a bad day. On a good day, however, she is the most loving, generous, warm person you could even meet. She has a warm warm and she wants you to feel loved. She is creative and wants to share that creative spark with you, too. For the next month of so that Venus spends in Leo let’s embrace her qualities on a good day rather than order “off with her head!” Questions to ask yourself: Where in your life can you learn something new? Where is there room for growth and exploration? What can you do to be more in the moment? How can you bring more spontaneity to your life? How can you share your generous heart with the people around you? How can you express your creativity? Can you bring your generosity and creativity to your relationships? Thursday June 14th ~ What’s going on today: Moon enters Cancer at 1:20 PM MDT Venus square Uranus What it means: When Venus squares Uranus there is a sense of hot and cold in relationships. Venus wants to get close but Uranus wants his freedom. How are these two kids going to get along? The answer is by embracing activities that are both artistic and spontaneous. Think about a jam band or a pottery studio open house. Sometimes we just need to do our own thing in and you can bring your partner along for the ride, if you don’t think it cramps your style too much. There is a lesson I had to learn which took me many years: a good relationship can actually enhance your freedom instead of detract from it. Think about that. Questions to ask yourself: How can I infuse my relationships with independence, creativity and spontaneity? Friday June 15th ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Cancer void-of-course at 10:18 AM MDT Mercury opposite Saturn What it means: I like to think of Mercury-Saturn aspects as excellent opportunities for critical thinking. If you have problems to solve or questions to answer you can utilize this aspect to find those solutions. The other in which I like using Mercury aspects is in terms of self-talk. Saturn has a tendency to be overly harsh so if you find yourself criticizing yourself then this is a great time to reframe and rephrase those thoughts in order to create a healthier self-image. And since this is an opposition aspect we can also be careful regarding how we talk about other people. As Audrey Hepburn famously said: “You can tell more about a person by what he says about others than you can by what others say about him.” Questions to ask yourself: How can I use my thoughts and words to create a healthier self-image? What things am I thinking about that are a waste of time and that I would be better off without them in my head? Saturday June 16th ~ What’s going on today: Moon enters Leo at 1:21 AM MDT The moon in Leo is playful and loves companionship. See if you can’t get together with some close friends and do something creative together. Sunday June 17th ~ What’s going on today: Moon in Leo void-of-course at 9:25 PM MDT Another day to play! Personally I have my own natal moon in Leo and I will say that there is a certain warmth that is a part of this lunar placement. How can you make the world a warmer and more welcoming place? How can you keep your sense of humor in good practice? The Leo moon appreciates all of those things. With the New Moon in Gemini dictating the week we have the opportunity to being some new exploration in our lives. This can be intellectual exploration or it can be traveling or anything in between, as long as we are learning something new. Embrace the “beginner’s mind” and set out on a new adventure.
